Experimental plant BNTU “Polytechnic” deals with the production of experimental sets of equipment, devices according to the orders of developers and manufactures some industrial products on small scale. Some information about research and other innovative units are presented below.
From the beginning in the BNTU a lot of attentions have been paid to the development of the scientific activity. As a result the number of research projects was increasing constantly. So, in 1991 it was decided to organize the Research Division within the structure of the University aiming the coordination of research activity, concentration of scientific-technical potential for the creation of competitive research products and technologies for the real sector of economy. The commercialization of scientific products allowed to obtain more financial resources for further development innovative structure in the BNTU. At present the Research Division of BNTU is the biggest research unit within the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus . Now all scientific activity of the University is carried out within the structure of Research Division providing the strengthening relations between the educational process and research activity. |
Within the structure of Research Division 19 research laboratories, 11 research and innovative laboratories, 8 research and testing laboratories, 6 Certification Bodies which are authorized by State Standard Committee have been organized covering practically all areas of the real sector of economy.
The staff of the Research Divisions includes about 400 permanent persons (among them 10 people have degree D.Sc. and about 50 – Ph.D. degree) and more than 200 part-time researchers. Moreover above 2000 people from teaching staff of BNTU and others universities, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus , different organizations participate annually in the fulfillment of research projects within Research Division obtaining additional payment. As well we encourage students to participate in scientific investigations .
Research Division of BNTU is the first scientific organization in the Ministry of Education who has developed and introduced the System of Quality Management (SQM) and obtained in 2005 the Conformity Certificate proving that the SQM for research, experimental development, fulfillment of products tests, measurement, certification, and quality management systems certification conform to requirements of STB ISO 9001-2001. This Certificate was proved in 2008.
We are actively developing the international collaboration with different universities and organization throughout the world. Joint research centers have been established with China , Latvia . We have fruitful collaboration with European Union , Germany , Vietnam , Korea , South Africa and many others. Contracts with companies from more than 10 countries are carried out.
University is actively creating objects of intellectual property. BNTU is a leading university in this activity within the system of Ministry of Education. In 2007 BNTU was awarded with WIPO Trophy as a recognition of our contribution in the research and scientific development through an intensive use of intellectual property.
Existing scientific and technical potential of BNTU allows solving any complicated problems offered by the real sector of economy of our country and carried out projects that meet the requirements of modern science. We are open for any kind of collaboration.
